footnote 4: in February of this year, my family went out to Toronto to say good bye to my mom...it was the last time i saw her alive...she didn't want us to see her in the final stages of her cancer...on our last night there, my mom hosted a dinner party, in which all my remaining uncles and cousins came...this was the grocery list that she wrote for the occasion, and that i took as a souvenir...feels like SPECTRAL EVIDENCE to me now
