ROGER "FUCKING" CORMAN

Shit man, this dude started the career of all those dope motherfuckers above...from the early 1950s until now...corman has directed over 50 movies and produced another 400!!!!...he's run his own film company on two separate occasions...he was a genius at knowing what the people wanted...post world war 2...aka the 50s...in which he made horror movies about atomic energy creating mutant monsters...the space age...space monsters attacking earth...biker gangs and lsd trips in the 60s...he was also a step ahead in terms of knowing where to put his movies...drive in theatres needed b movies to open for the main movies so he got his shit in there...when movie theatres were expanding rapidly he got his shit in there...when vhs came into being...he was the first to jump on that...cable tv...first on that...specialty channels like the sci-fi network...on that...internet...on that...guy was fucking brilliant...also he made a movie called "the fast and the furious" and another "grand theft auto" and we know what they inspired...not to mention the guy inspired tarantino movies as well...plus he was a nice guy, which is really rare, as anyone that's worked in the film industry knows there's a shitload of fucking assholes honking their horns...people called being on a roger corman movie "like going to film school"...he was super open to new people coming onto his team and writing or acting or directing with minimal to no experience...just taking super big risks and chances and having them all work out for the most part...he never lost money on many of the films he made...he also employed alot of females on the business side of things or working on the films themselves and that just never happened anywhere else...anyway, i picked up this beautiful table book from the library...and it was a page turner...

...unbelievable posters for his movies in full page colour...plus there's an oral history...which is my favourite way to tell a history or bio of someone...an oral history with almost all the big names that worked for him telling their stories...highly recommend this book to people interested in film or making movies...really inspirational...
